Deconstructing Facebook Ads Objectives
1-minute read
We breathe in social media strategies, day in and day out – not only for our own brand but more importantly, for our clients. Facebook advertising is a huge part of our marketing efforts.

But how can we ensure that we’re getting the optimal results when we spend on Facebook ads? The first step in the process: understanding Facebook ads objectives. This will help us choose the right and best objective to help us achieve our goals.

Before we delve into the article, here are the three Facebook objectives at a glance:
  • Awareness
  • Consideration
  • Conversion
What are Facebook Objectives?
Facebook objectives define what you want to accomplish with a specific Facebook ad campaign (which can include multiple ads within it), and then help Facebook to optimise your ads for the results you want to see.

There are three categories of objectives—awareness, consideration, and conversion—with plenty of diverse objectives.

Awareness
Objectives that generate interest in your product or service. Increasing brand awareness is about telling people what makes your business valuable. For example, Jasper’s Market is going to launch a small regional chain of grocery stores.

Using the Brand Awareness objective, they can create a campaign that highlights their fresh, organic produce to people in the local area.

Consideration
Objectives that get people to think about your business and seek more information. For example, Jasper’s Market has a website that tells their story and lists some of their store’s unique offerings.

Using the Traffic objective, they can create a campaign that encourages people to visit their site to learn more.

Conversion
Objectives that encourage people who are interested in your business to buy or use your product or service. For example, Jasper’s Market has opened a few new locations.

Using the Store Traffic objective, they can create a campaign to encourage potential customers to stop by their nearest store.

Wrapping It Up
Knowing all three objectives and how they can help achieve your goals is an important step in starting your Facebook Ad campaign. If you're ready to start attracting leads with sophisticated, custom social media ads, we're here to help!
